Don't let "stuff" get in your way. |
Don't worry, I haven't lost track of the calendar; it seemed like a good time to take a look back at 2023 so far to reflect on how things are going and to plan for the future. This year, organizing work got REEEEALLY slow in June, which was a surprise to me and my colleagues, as we all reported a busy May (I couldn't have booked another client if I'd wanted to!). Things seemed to pick back up for us in July, however. So far in 2023 some of the highlights included organizing a super successful garage sale, helping a client move internationally (to London, England!), and the busiest month so far in my career as a professional organizer. I've discovered minimalism and how great it feels to live with less; to that end, I've helped clients donate over 1,700 pounds of items to charity! Seventeen hundred pounds! I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention some of the challenges Revise Your Space has faced. The biggest one that continues to be a thorn in my side is a client who refused to pay her final invoice, so I had to get a legal team involved. I'm so naïve that I would never imaging someone not paying me for the hard work I did for them, but it happened. So many lessons learned from that experience! I've been lax in setting business goals, which is something I need to improve on, because how can I meet goals and keep pushing the business forward when I don't know where I'm going? Thanks for reading this outpouring of thoughts from your local organizer, Lilly M Neal! I look forward to hearing what you're working on and how 2023 has been going for you.
