Don't let "stuff" get in your way. |
At least here in the Austin, Texas, heat, the word "garage" can be a four-letter word. But hear me out: today, just take a peek out in yours and be honest about what you see. Is it a place you can park your car and put lawn and sports equipment, or has it become a dumping ground for everything that doesn't have a proper home inside the house? Garages are the gateway to your home, but more often than not, I see them as a gateway to homeowners renting a storage unit. There's too much stuff with not enough thought put into why it's there in the first place. Be honest with yourself: Are those boxes in your garage really items that you cherish and that deserve to take up that much space in your parking spot? Have you looked at them in the past year...or three years...or 10? Wouldn't you love to have a shaded spot to protect your (sometimes expensive) investment--your car--instead of boxes you haven't bothered to open in years? I say, let's open those boxes and help you move on with your life! Let's declutter that garage and take back control of your space! And I don't just mean your garage, but mine, too: I just did a decluttering of my own garage because every time I pulled my car in (at least it still fit), I was confronted with items sitting on the floor instead of up on proper shelving, and I said, "No more!" I took back control of my own garage, and I can help you do the same to yours. Again, let's open up those boxes and make the garage a place you can use, not a place that makes you say a four-letter word!
